Whatever your situation or visual condition, we can provide the best solution for you When you arrive at Aristone Opticians for your eye test, you’ll be asked a few questions about your general health and family history, including any particular illnesses and medication you may be taking. This allows us to tailor your eye examination to your needs, and will help our qualified optometrist to carry out a thorough assessment of your vision and ocular health.
Your eye examination itself will include a series of different tests. You may be familiar with some of these, particularly the visual acuity test which involves reading different sized letters off a chart. There might also be some that are more unusual, but none of the tests you are asked to do will be painful or uncomfortable.
The tests that you complete will let your optometrist know if you have any difficulties with your vision, such as long- or short-sightedness for example. If this is the case, you will be informed of any findings at the end of your appointment, and given your new prescription. You will also be able to discuss the different types of eyewear available to you, and your optician will help you find the perfect option to suit your lifestyle.
If you choose to have new glasses, you will have plenty of time after your appointment to browse the impressive selection of frames we stock in practice and choose your favourite. It can be tricky to select new eyewear sometimes, especially if you’re not sure what suits you, but our friendly expert team are on hand to give professional and impartial opinions every step of the way. You can rest assured that no matter what your personal style, budget or requirements, you’ll find the perfect eyewear for you at Aristone Optical.
The standard of technology and equipment that is used to carry out your eye examination enables us to obtain the most accurate evaluation of your eye health. Not only can we test for visual problems, but also for indications of physical eye conditions, like glaucoma, macular degeneration and cataracts. This is done through the use of our Fundus camera and OCT machine, which both allow us to look at the back of your eye in detail and check for any abnormalities or indications of a problem. The earlier any signs of visual or health conditions are detected, the easier it will be for us to prescribe appropriate and effective treatment for you.
If you suffer from specific conditions such as glaucoma, cataracts or even diabetes, you’ll also be able to take advantage of specialist advice on ways to manage and control your symptoms where necessary. Just give us a call, or speak to one of our team at your next appointment, and they’ll be able to give you further advice about practice clinics to help you.
